Our Nurse Prescribers are highly skilled senior nurses with advanced clinical skills so that they can make diagnoses, carry out treatment, prescribe medicine and refer patients for investigations.

Patients with short term illnesses can see a Nurse Prescriber rather than a GP. These illness include:

Coughs and respiratory infections, earache, urinary symptoms, back pain and other musculoskeletal complaints, constipation, indigestion and heartburn, emergency contraception

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
